Bill is a member of South Church, United Church of Christ in Andover where he serves on the Green Team. His leadership was instrumental in guiding South Church through the process of installing a solar photovoltaic system and Electric Vehicle chargers. He is a regular presenter at MA IP&L's Sustainable House of Worship (SHOW) workshops and gives talks to faith and community groups. He is an advisor to WECAN of Andover (andoverwecan.org). Bill served as chair of the Water Quality Standards Advisory Committee of the NH Department of Environmental Services. He is an electrical engineer who supervised a research and development department at Bell Labs. Bill earned his Ph.D. in electrical engineering at the University of Michigan.
